Elduvik, a village in Eysturoy, Faroe Islands

We had a bumpy Zodiac landing on Eysturay in the Faroe Islands. We landed at Elduvik, one of several villages on this island, and it has a population of 13.
Getting on and off the Zodiacs was a real challenge this morning. Elduvik is in the distance.
After climbing slippery steps up the cliff, and a muddy path, we were greeted by this lovely guide. Our ship is in the background.
This gentleman lives in the village and is 75 years old. He is a  life time resident, and went to school in this red schoolhouse.
we ate an amazing fish soup in this house. Later on we had coffee and cake in another resident's home.
Original boat houses.
Some of the lovely guides recruited from neighboring villages to interpret.
Half of the village gathered to wave goodbye to us as we took a bus to Torshavn, the capitol of Faroe Islands.
Leaving town...
